Hoy es el día del nacimiento del fundador del Taekwon-Do,
No hay un hecho más relevante que ese. NO ES EL DIA DEL INSTRUCTOR DE TAEKWON-DO.
El Gral. Choi Hong Hi dijo: "Nací en Corea el 9 de Noviembre de 1918. En aquella época, el calendario coreano se basaba en los ciclos lunares, en el cual cada mes tiene 27 o 28 días. En 1960 Corea optó por el calendario occidental, basado en el ciclo solar, teniendo cada mes 30 o 31 días. De acuerdo con el calendario occidental, mi cumpleaños es el 22 de Diciembre. Así que, aun cuando tengo dos cumpleaños, el 9 de Noviembre de 1918 es el que elegí para celebrar."
No permitamos que se tergiverse la historia. Hoy celebremos el aniversario del nacimiento del fundador del Taekwon-Do, Gral. Choi, Hong Hi. Así fue su voluntad. Taekwon,

There is no more relevant fact than that. IT IS NOT THE TAEKWON-DO INSTRUCTOR'S DAY
Today, November 9th would have been Gen Choi´s Birthday, though it was always said that he had two birthdays. Why? This was General Choi´s answer to that question:
"I was born in Korea, November 9th 1918. During those times, rhe Korean calendar was based on the lunar cycles, each month with 27 or 28 days. In 1960, Korea chose the occidental calendar, based on the solar cycle, with each month with 30 or 31 days. According to occidental calendar, my birthday would be on December 22th . So, even if I have two birthdays; November 9th is the date I have chosen."
Do not let the story be distorted. Today we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the founder of Taekwon-Do, Gen. Choi, Hong Hi.
This was his will.

November 9th,2017 is a very special day for all of us as ITF Taekwon-do Instructors as it is General Choi's birthday, I hope that all of us will take a few minutes within our classes to remind all of our students of this important date and to celebrate our founder's birthday. The ITF is aware of the unfortunate situation regarding Master Parm Rai and these matters are being dealt with. The ITF is also aware that there are members who are spreading the information and this is damaging to the ITF and to Master Rai. It is important to remember that a person is considered innocent until proven otherwise and you as brothers and sisters in Taekwon-Do must trust the ITF and the courts to make appropriate decisions based on evidence rather than hearsay. It is imperative that all discussions regarding any matter surrounding this situation stop immediately. Individuals with concerns or having pertinent information can share directly with the Vice President Trevor Nichols or the ITF Discipline and Reconciliation Chair, but not with other instructors, students, schools, organizations, or the public. Any further discussions through any public or private communications will be deemed insubordination and will be dealt with by the ITF and the Discipline and Reconciliation Committee. Best wishes. The ITF respects, appreciates and agrees with Master Parm Rai's willingness to step aside until his personal matters are resolved. It is regretful that these steps must be taken to maintain the integrity of the ITF and Taekwon-Do. We want to thank Master Rai for his tireless service to the ITF and to President Choi, Jung Hwa. The ITF considers Master Rai innocent of any and all charges until proven otherwise. We trust that justice will prevail. We look forward to having him return to active service. Best wishes.
