Today is called Choo Seok - Korean Thanksgiving.

Choo Seok is when the moon is at is brightest and most beautiful. On this day we thank the heavens and ancestors and more closely our parents.

It is a big celebration for Koreans when elaborate ceremonies under strict guidelines and rules are performed by the household in particular where possible by the eldest son. Non Korean Taekwon-Do people can also celebrate this day by thinking of and appreciating family ,ancestors and nature. For me, as the eldest son I celebrate Gen Choi. - this day is very sincere and special as I also have the honour of continuing my Fathers work as the son of the Founder of Taekwon Do.
